Cats & Dogs Portraits

It seems the number of Dog portraits I am commissioned to paint, almost doubles the amount of Cats I am asked to paint. Could this mean Dogs are more popular than Cats or just that they make better paintings? http://www.pet-paintings.co.uk/gallery.htm
